Dreamy Boho Baby Shower

This project was SUCH a joy to work on.  The moment Kelly reached out and told me "hot pink, feathers, bohemian, and dream catchers" I got beyond excited to get started. I started with the dream catcher which I knew had to be adorned with pretty watercolor flowers. From there everything fell into place with whimsical calligraphy and bight color palette reminiscent of a Indian sunset.

Once the invites were done, we brainstormed on day-of details which included banner signage, menus, placecards, cocktail signs and more. Kelly worked magic pulling all the details together (follow her event design, home, & lifestyle Instagram @peacedesignco for styling tips!) and Love This Photography captured it all so beautifully! I was honored to work alongside these ladies on this special project! Excuse my iPhone pictures of the invites, but then revel in the amazingness of Love This Photography's day-of photos! :)

The Mint Julep

The Mint Julep is a classic cocktail for a reason - not only is it refreshing and delicious, it's just plain classy. Think people dressed to the nines, ladies in big hats, beautiful horses, and money on the line. Yes, the Kentucky Derby is not only known for those things but the Mint Julep as well, making it a cocktail that isn't going away any time soon. Plus, drinking from a silver cup makes anything and anyone feel special. For this reason, I knew I needed a Mint Julep classic cocktail recipe print to add to the collection. I hope to get this one printed in a silver foil in time for next year's Derby to match my copper foil printed Moscow Mule prints. But until then, this black and white print will have to do.

Sienna's 1st Birthday

My niece was born a bit before St. Patrick's Day so of course her first birthday party theme had to involve "bangers, mash, a cake smash." We decided on traditional Irish green, but softened it with a watercolor background with some teal colors, all accented with gold glitter to give it that fun and girly finish. They turned out so cute! But of course, how could anything with that face not turn out adorable?

This set involved the main invitations (lined with gold glitter washi tape along the bottom), cupcake flavor toppers, banner signs, thank you flags, and "One" signage for her cake and hair chair.

Graduation Announcements

Graduation Announcement: The Beachcomber

Graduation Announcement: The Beachcomber

It's scary to think that when I graduated high school it was almost a DECADE ago. It feels like it was just last week but at the same time fuzzy like a dream. When coming up with designs for graduation announcements I found it amusing and scary and sad that I didn't know what the "youths" these days liked. I mean I'm sure I have a better idea than most who are older than me, but still, to feel that disconnected when in so many ways I feel the same even after all these years is a little surreal. Sure there has been change and growth but I'm still me, you know?

Anyways, my good friend Christian Kaysen from Kaysen Photography is taking the senior graduation photos this year at our old high school. He's done it in the years past and he says parents often ask about graduation announcements. So I decided to fill that void and come up with some pre-designed templates for those who are interested! Hopefully these are a tad better than the standard ones you can get through the school!

There are five featured designs, plus studio versions of each. I love the featured ones though because they use "Lifestyle Sessions" photos by Kaysen Photography. These pictures truly capture the spirit of the senior graduating and offers a more personalized glimpse into their lives. But, I wanted to have designs that could feature the typical "studio" photo as well. And instead of recreating new designs for these, I thought why not just adjust the other designs to make it work with a single image? I'm excited the way they all turned out and can't wait to (hopefully) get started on some announcements throughout the year!

Birth Announcement • Lavender & Gold

I have 3 nephews who are each awesome in their individual ways and I love them all! But after 3 boys, you start having the itch to buy tutus and dresses and hair bows. So, you can imagine how excited my entire family was when she arrived. Oh and it was a surprise which made it all the more exciting. Of course the immediate day following her birth I had to go out and buy a lavender blanky, a cute little dress with leggings, and lavender sun glasses. I couldn't help it :)

It was so fun designing these birth announcements. Finally a different color other than blue! I actually started with the envelope liner paper and went from there. I loved the mint and gold polka dot paper and the lavender seemed to compliment it nicely. Of course I had to use a girly script font and just look at that face! Melts my heart. We love you Sienna!

Wedding • Blush Ombre Watercolor Invites

I posted a sneak peak of these blush ombre watercolor invites a couple weeks ago and I finally got around to printing and taking pictures! I'm obsessed with envelope liners so of course had to include a black and cream chrysanthemum pattern here.

OH and and and I made my own envelope! I didn't have one in the size with the right color I needed so I made one. I know. I'm shocked too. Because even though I consider myself a creative person, crafty is a whole other ball game that I'm not particularly skilled in. I'm like the kid in the outfield picking dandelions without a clue or care in the world, but every once in a while I surprise everyone, including myself, with a decent play. Because I might have to admit that my first run at the cutting and glueing of said envelope, I ended up gluing the wrong sides of the envelope flaps, and then I ended up glueing the open top flap down instead of the bottom one. See? Picking dandelions. Good thing my husband is way more patient and better with glue than I am. He recovered the mess. But I still consider it a team effort.

This design is coming to the shop soon!

Wedding • Blush Ombre Watercolor Invite

It's always bittersweet when your non-favorite design is chosen when designing custom work. Well, i should say at first it's bitter because I'm like noooo not that one! I shouldn't even have included it as an option!  But then I get over it and find it cool and neat that they saw something in one of the designs that maybe I didn't see or appreciate before. It all works out :)

But what about those non-chosen designs? Sometimes they have run their course, but sometimes I like them too much to go to waste. Here is one of those designs. I liked the softness and prettiness of the blush/ombre watercolor background. I'm usually not a "pink" person but this is understated and balanced out by the classic black typography so it doesn't get overly "girly" - which it could easily do with all the hearts too. The overall effect is a rustic elegance in my opinion.

I'm also sort of in love with this script font too called Cenizas - it has a handwritten feel to it, while still maintaing it's elegance with just the right amount of freedom. I know it might not be everyone's cup of tea but I like the overall feel it conveys.

This is just a digital version of it, but I've already picked out some envelopes and black and cream floral envelope liners that will complete it. The whole set will be posted soon!

The "chosen" design from this wedding invite set will be posted soon as well! :)

Baby • Lumberjack Birth Announcement

The first of our friends welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world! He is so precious and perfect, and we are so excited for his parents and whole family! I had the honor of creating the lumberjack themed baby shower invites a couple months ago and we used the same elements to create this birth announcement. It's a two-sided announcement featuring a full picture of Porter on one side, and then his name, birth info and a blank space on the other. I thought this blank space was such a great idea - not only does this serve as an announcement, but also as a thank you note from the parents to everyone who blessed them during the shower and during the pregnancy. Genius!
